I don't know about all of you but I am glad to see the end of March!! We are finally getting some warmer temps and sunshine which is so nice to see. My Mom and I sat out on the back porch for a little while this afternoon and it felt so good to be in the sun. I am doing fine...I have learned to shower by myself while at the same time keeping wounds dry...not sure if that really makes Nurse Bret happy or not....I am really looking forward to seeing the PS on Friday morning. I should be getting these two drain tubes out...they really do drive me nuts and they hurt. They are also just gross. They come out of my sides right where my uncomfortable bra strap hits and they drain into two bulbs...Bret calls them my "balls"...he is such a bad boy. I have been stressing my Mom out by making her drive me around in the "big city"! Yesterday we had breakfast at Bob Evans and today I was craving salad from Ruby Tuesday's. Both of these places are probably less than a mile from our house but the traffic around here is a lot different than what she is used to in Vermilion. I just have to get out of the house for a few minutes each day even if it wears me out....I will be glad when I can get out and start walking each day so I can get stronger.
It has been really nice to have my Mom here. We just sit around and talk when I am not napping and both the kids enjoy having her here.
Thanks again to all of you for the thoughtful cards, flowers, gifts and email/blog messages....they always lift my spirits!

Warm - and sunny! Do we not live around the corner from each other? Ae your anesthesia medications still working? Glad to hear that you are feeling up to vnturing out of the house! I like the "balls" comment - it's great that you always find humor in it all - even the crappy stuff. Take care - Carissa
Hi Jan!!!
Yeah...warmer temps are approaching!! I'm so tired of the cold. Glad you and your Mom could sit outside and enjoy the sun.
Ok...the comment about the "balls" cracked me up. As soon as I read that I had that one song going through my head.I don't know the name of it, but it had something to do with balls. LOL
There is nothing like having your Mom around. I miss my Mom, she lives out in Palm Springs. Enjoy the time that you two get to spend together.
Hang in there. Pretty soon you will out and about, taking your long walks. I know I'm looking forward to the warmer weather to start my walks again. We'll have to walk together...ok!!
Thanks again for keeping us all updated. I check your Blog often to see how you are doing. We will continue to pray for you and the family.
Lots of hugs & love coming your way!!!
Take care,
Sheryl
So glad to hear you are getting out alittle each day! Yes, I am sure mom won't drive for a month when she comes home. She doesn't even like to drive outside of Vermilion! Stil awful cold here but the sun is shining today which is nice. Just think how far you have come in one week and know that each week will be better. See you Friday! Love, Kay
Good morning Jan! Was so excited when I read your report. Just hearing that you could even attempt to venture out made we happy! I know it's hard to keep you down! :) It's nice having that quality time with your mom - nothing better than that QFT (my favorite thing in the whole world) - ask my kids - they'll tell you.... (quality family time!). Anyway, I can just hear ol' Bret talking about your balls! What a trooper! Will be glad to hear how it goes on Friday. I'm going to have to be calling, since I won't have any access to a computer. don't worry though - I won't be bugging you as much as I post! (hehe).... Just hard to keep you off my mind! Just cause I love you..... Take care.... hoping each and every day gets better and better! Love you! Sue
Hi Jan, I am so glad you are having quality time with your mom. I am also glad that you have an appetite and are feeling up to getting out a little bit. You continue to rest and build your strength up and you will be out taking those walks you are looking forward to before you know it. I am always thinking of you and I'm sending lots of love and hugs your way. Love You! Cheryl
So glad you are having a better day! And yes, I'm glad April is here too. Spring time in the south is beautiful and the cherry blossom trees look amazing! Wish you were here to enjoy them.
What a blessing that you are surrounded by family during such a difficult time. Tell your folks hello for me!
Take care!
Linda
Good morning Jan! How are you today? I am great! It's my Friday (hehe) and looking forward to the long drive down the big road! :) Hope you rested well last night and have a wonderful day today! Thinking of you daily! Love you! Sue
Hey there. I just wanted to wish you good luck tomorrow getting those pesky tubes out! I can't wait to see you tomorrow so I can see for myself how wonderful you are doing. Tell Nurse Bret I expect him to be in full "nurse attire" when we arrive, and I mean nurse hat and all :) Love you, Kay
Hey Jan,
Jeff spoke to Brett yesterday and he told him everything you have been going through. I am sorry that we did not know sooner. We will keep you and your family in our prayers. I got your blog and home address from Jamie today. I will stay in touch. Love,Shey

HEHEHEHE, I love Libby's posts!!! Hi Jan - I've been up packing and paying bills (fun, fun) and getting stuff together for FLA. So I figured I'd check in and say good night - or hello - as I'm hoping you're sleeping comfortably at this hour!!!??? I'm happy that you'll get your drain tubes out (today). I bet that will make things a little more comfortable for you. I know you're looking forward to your sister (and family) getting there! Take good care of yourself and don't over-do!!!! Also had to chuckle invisioning Nurse Bret in his attire! (I know, I DO need to get a life. It doesn't take make to amuse me!) - but LAUGHTER and smiles are good for the heart and soul! Take care. Praying each day gets better for you! I love you.... Call my cell sometime when you get the chance. Just hearing your voice would do wonders for me!!!! Take care. Sue
Just thought that I would check in on you.
Hope you had a good day today and you're getting plenty of rest.
Libby....that is the song I was thinking of when I read Jan's comment about the "balls"!!! That is too funny.
I hope all goes well tomorrow (or should I say today...you know me and the times that I post). We will say a prayer that all goes well.
Looks like we are supposed to have a nice weekend. So that will be good when Kay comes to visit you. Hopefully you guys can get out and enjoy the nice weather.
I will be looking for the updated post on how everything went.
Sending you lots of love and hugs!!!
Talk to you soon,
Sheryl
