Yippee, it's the weekend!

Jan rested more yesterday and got up a couple of times. Today, she is continuing to improve. She has some uncomfortable issues from the bandages and the way they're bound, so she called the reconstructive surgeon and got some pointers on how to alleviate the discomfort. Now, she's ready to take a shower. Of course she can't take it without me, so now I have an excuse to take a shower with her!!!!! Jan's sister Vicki, b.i.l. Todd and niece Emily are coming to visit and check up on Jan, so she's looking forward to seeing them tonight. More later,
Bret

Hi Jan, Brett & Kids,

Sue emailed me Monday to let me know about the surgery and to ask for prayers (which I've done and will continue to do). After reading the blogs, it sounds like things are going well for you guys. God's miracles at work :) Keep the faith!!

Jan, Praise the Lord for the good reports and your continued recovery. Thanks to Brett for keeping us posted on your progress. I look forward to checking your blog everyday. I am always blessed by your positive and sometimes humorous entries. You know we are going to live to be 100 years ago..then we can receive a letter from the president. Hmm..wonder who that will be!!!
LOVE AND PRAYERS,
Dorothy

Hi Jan, After waiting about 20 minutes for my dinosaur computer to move I was pleased to see an update. I was pretty busy all afternoon and didn't get the chance to check back before leaving today. JD and I did the Relay for Life and boy was that touching. I couldn't help but think about you Jan. It was pretty touching and during the luminary part of the walk I got pretty emotional. So many lives affected by cancer. Then of course I started crying - thinking of all my dear friends and family members who have been touched by this disease - or the threat of it. Pretty emotional. But didn't take long to count my blessings and thank God for all the answered prayers. So I had to tell you one more time tonight - how thankful I am for all these prayers that SOOOO many have sent up for you and your family - and the fact that God is SOOOO good and hears them every one. I love you Jan. Sleep comfortably and take care of yourself.... Enjoy your family being there! Sue

OK - so I must get a life! You'll probably be glad when I'm on spring break and won't have access to a computer! Oh well, there's always my cell phone! (hehe)... Well, I hope our patient rested well last night. I hope your private nurse (Bret) is taking extra special care of you! I'm sure it was great to see Vicki, Todd and Emily! Are your mom and dad still there? Will your mom stay on for a while!? Well, take care and I'll check back in, IF I have enough patience to wait for this computer to come on and move! Heading to Indy to do a little shopping, see Corban (and Kristen), then tonight going to Bud Brady's 80th birthday "roast" - should be fun!!!! Thinking and praying for you all daily! I love you! Sue
